Let’s get together!
Introduction
I'm an artist-author blessed to be living in beautiful Leelanau County, Michigan. I enjoy working with pastels but you'll find a few oils in my collection, too. My subjects include people and animals, but mostly I love 'scapes--landscapes, streetscapes and seascapes (actually, lakescapes!).
Member Great Lakes Pastel Society, Pastel Society of America, American Impressionist Society, Glen Arbor Arts Center, Leelanau Cultural Center, Oliver Arts Center
I wrote two books about the lives of some interesting people who enriched my life (!) after I visited a local cemetery and sensed someone there. You’ll find info on this site about the books and our reclaiming the cemetery, which was abandoned and then buried under a tangle of downed trees in 2015.
I also have had the honor of writing for our local newspaper, The Glen Arbor Sun. Click here to search my name and browse my articles, www.glenarborsun.com You can learn more about me here
So. Enter my gallery-print shop. Read my books. Browse my work: the prints are fine art giclees; the paintings are pastels on artists’ sandpaper; the books are timeless. Sit back and enjoy. Become inspired.
Perhaps you have a project you’d like Linda to paint. If so, follow the link below to learn more about the commissioning process by clicking the button below.

Events
American Farm, 20 x 16 pastel, above, has been juried into the Great Lakes Pastel Society annual member show. This year, the show will be hung at Crooked Tree Art Center in Traverse City July 8-August 25.
In February 2023, I presented my painting, “Our Winter Heroes,” to the heroes themselves, the Leelanau County Road Commission.
The Artist, 20 x 16 pastel now available as a print here in the print shop, received an Honorable Mention in the 2022 Great Lakes Pastel Society member show.
During 2021, poet Anne-Marie Oomen and I launched “On the Precipice: an Ekphrastic Exhibit” featuring nine of my paintings, each paired with a poem she created for that painting. Our theme revolves around the edge on which we currently live in our changing culture and environment. We began at the Oliver Art Center in June, then moved to the Glen Lake Community Library in Empire. At the end of August, it was welcomed into the Leelanau Township Library in Northport for its winter home. The following spring found a smaller iteration of this exhibit at the Glen Arbor Arts Center.
Currently
I am currently working on an article about my paintings, a book based on my father’s World War II experience, and several commissions. My gallery at home is available for viewing by appointment. Contact jinglelinda@gmail.com
